Ford Philippines employees once again trooped to the La Mesa Watershed to do their share in taking care of the environment via a seedling nursery preparation activity with ABS CBN's Bantay Kalikasan.

During the seedling nursery activity, Ford volunteers spent a half-day of weeding and preparing the soil bags where the seedlings will be temporarily planted before transferring them to the La Mesa Watershed. The activity serves as the first step in preparation for the next tree-planting season in the area.

This activity is part of the Ford Conservation and Environmental Grants program, where Bantay Kalikasan has been a grants recipient for three consecutive years. Among the projects supported by the Ford Ecogrants is the "Establishment of a central nursery of indigenous plants for urban regreening of Metro Manila in the La Mesa watershed,” which is related to the recent seedling nursery preparation activity.

"Apart from providing financial assistance to community projects, we also recognize the importance of being involved in the causes of the organizations that we support. We encourage our employees to volunteer their time and services as this gives Ford an opportunity to share our time and talents to the community,” said Binggay Vistal, Vice President for Government & Corporate Affairs of Ford Group Philippines.

Ford also continues to engage in various community activities such as medical missions, school supplies donations and fund raising programs. Community relations is an integral part of Ford Philippines’ operations. Through its volunteer activities, Ford Philippines is able to show its commitment in looking after the well being of the environment and the community.
